CEVA in Brazil announces new contract with Honda

São Paulo, Brazil, 18 January 2011 – CEVA Logistics, one of the world’s leading supply chain companies, has signed a contract with Honda Automóveis do Brasil Ltda for the transportation and cross-docking of replacement parts in the state of São Paulo.

The three year contract is worth €5.9 million (R$13 million) and involves the distribution of parts and accessories for the two and four wheel market, for a total of 203 Honda resellers.

CEVA’s operations for Honda will be executed by 30 CEVA professionals working in two warehouses strategically located in the cities of Louveira and Diadema, São Paulo. There will also be a team working on site at Honda in Sumaré, in the São Paulo countryside.

Philippe Masse de Souza, Manager of Business Development in the Automotive sector for CEVA, comments: “The decisive factor for winning the contract was CEVA’s capacity to offer flexible solutions. In a market as dynamic as automotive, solutions need to be consistent and particularly flexible to keep up with the fluctuation in demand.”

CEVA and Honda’s successful partnership spans across the globe; this is another reason for choosing CEVA for this service in Brazil. “As we are global vendors for Honda, we can facilitate benchmarking between the operations performed here in Brazil, Italy and the United States, increasing the flexibility and quality of provided services,” de Souza explained.

Honda’s Part Logistics Manager, Flávio Simões, defines it as a successful partnership. “Having a logistics partner with deep expertise in the automotive industry, especially the segment of parts and accessories, is aligned with Honda’s philosophy to offer top quality products,” Simões said.
