CEVA recognized by General Motors with Certificate of Merit in Brazil

Sao Paulo, Brazil, 27 April, 2011 – CEVA Logistics, one of the world’s leading supply chain companies, has been recognized by General Motors (GM) with a Certificate of Merit for Quality, Service, Technology and Price at the annual Supplier of the Year Awards. This is the sixth time CEVA has received this award from GM, and this year it was awarded to AV Manufacturing, a wholly owned subsidiary of CEVA that has supplied dressed engines to GM’s Gravataí plant since 2006.The event, held in São Caetano do Sul, São Paulo, recognizes the performance of GM’s top suppliers measured against key criteria such as quality, service, technology and price.

CEVA is considered by GM in Brazil as a strategic supplier with excellent performance. “We have a solid partnership with GM and this recognition shows we are on the right path,” states Caio Najm, Senior Vice President and General Director of CEVA in Brazil. “This is the result of the work of a dedicated and motivated team,” he added.

The annual awards are a GM initiative to recognize the work of suppliers that support the company’s achievements throughout the year.  In total, 6,800 suppliers competed in categories such as direct materials, indirect materials, replacement parts and logistics. The event has been held since 1973 and is currently in its 39th year.
