TNT Express donates 30 Patient Trolleys to National Hospitals in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka, July, 2011 -TNT Express, the leading global business to business express delivery company, is pleased to donate 30 patient trolleys to the Emergency Treatment Units (ETU’s) of general hospitals across Sri Lanka.

In Sri Lanka, TNT Express is represented by Aitken Spence Plc.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Health in Sri Lanka, an official ceremony was held for the occasion with the presence of Dr. Palitha Mahipala the Minister of Health secretary, representatives from Aitken Spence Plc and TNT Express as well as major directors from the Medical Supplies Unit.

Dr. Mahipala, Minister of Health secretary, commented:” Sri Lanka is one of the few countries that provide free healthcare services for its citizens and a similar donation from the private sector will ease the burden off the government and provide a vital assistance to the Ministry of Health.”

As part of the TNT Express commitment to the local community, the trolleys were distributed in areas where TNT Express operates branch offices. TNT Express manages 15 branches Island wide as well as 12 franchised offices.  The latest to join the network was the operational facility in Seeduwa, the opening coincided with the TNT Express 30th anniversary celebrations.
