Damco, one of the world’s leading third party logistics providers, has appointed BOTTLE to handle its Toy Trade PR brief for 2012. BOTTLE has specifically been tasked with positioning Damco as the preferred provider of logistics within the toy industry.
BOTTLE kicked off the partnership with an experiential campaign during London Toy Fair. Toy manufacturers, distributors and retailers were sent mock airline tickets, inviting them to send one of their toys on an round-the-world trip of a lifetime, before being donated to the with the Evelina Children’s Hospital, part of Guys and St Thomas’ in London.
As part of the campaign, BOTTLE created an airport departure lounge at the London Hilton Olympia, where people could relax whilst dropping off their toys. This enabled Damco to recruit participants and offer their supply chain services to top names in the toy industry including Disney and Hasbro. London was closely followed by Nuremburg Toy Fair where a similar set up took place to register more toys for the trip, including a rocking horse by Princess Maja of Hohenzollern.
BOTTLE will chart the toy travelers’ movements via www.damcotoytrip.com and will continue to generate trade media coverage both within the UK and Germany throughout the campaign period.
