CSCMP Announces 2013 Lineup of Supply Chain Management Workshops

CSCMP125Lombard, Illinois USA (January 10, 2013) — The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) announced its lineup of 2013 supply chain management workshops to be held at the organization’s headquarters in Lombard, Illinois. The one- and two-day events are designed to provide global supply chain management professionals with the latest knowledge, research, and industry developments, as well as with opportunities to network with their peers.

Fundamentals of Supply Chain Management
Participants will receive a comprehensive first-level introduction to supply chain management in this interactive, two-day workshop.

April 8-9
Sales and Operations Planning
This workshop will focus on the natural role of supply chain management to facilitate and integrate S&OP activities, processes, and outcomes.

April 22-23
Transportation: Challenges and Solutions
Participants will explore options and alternatives for current modes and carriers, impacts of globalization, obstacles to performance objectives, changing shipper/carrier relationships, and emerging trends.

May 6-7
From Strategy to Reality: How SCM Turns Corporate Ideas into Results
New this year, this workshop will provide attendees with a comprehensive overview of the strategic options and alternatives that corporations might consider in the growth, profitability, and success of their enterprises.

June 11-12
Distribution Center Planning and Operations
This interactive event combines high-level planning with focused and detailed execution for effective facility operation. Participants will explore real-life cases and exercises to promote lively discussion and debate.

August 1-2
Relationships and Collaboration Meet Performance Metrics
Two back-to-back one-day sessions that may be taken individually or as a package. The August 1 workshop will present tools and techniques for building and maintaining business relationships and creating high-trust, high-performance alliances. The second day will focus on creating a comprehensive performance management approach to supply chain operations and personnel.

September 9-10
Sourcing and Procurement
From concepts through execution, this new workshop will cover the essentials of sourcing and procurement in an integrated context, with emphasis on the foundations laid in strategic sourcing and proficiency in managing supplier relationships and contracts.
