PostNL Signs Agreement with MoneyGram

POSTNL1252 July 2013 at 16:35 CET – The Hague – PostNL Post Offices will be offering a new service: money transfers via MoneyGram. The leading global money transfer company MoneyGram has been offering customers the possibility to send or receive money easily, fast and reliably worldwide for decades already. Various research shows that many customers are expecting the possibility to do money transfers at post offices. With products from MoneyGram, PostNL Post Offices give customers and business customers the possibility to transfer cash to family, employees or companies within the country or abroad. Customers can transfer or retrieve up to € 2000 without the need of a bank account or credit card; only valid identification is necessary. Today, a customer did the first official transaction at the Post office at Kerkplein in The Hague. The MoneyGram service is already available at more than 30 Post Offices in The Netherlands. PostNL has the intention to expand the service to 500 post offices.

PostNL started in 2012 with a pilot. The positive results have been decisive to extend the partnership with MoneyGram. The partnership between MoneyGram and PostNL is apparent because of the extensive retail network of post offices in stores where customers often visit, such as supermarkets, bookshops, tobacconists and convenience stores.
